Ive just reset my pro90 using the method I posted,no problems, you had me worried-imagine the shame if Id made a bo-bo-in front of all those people. used the first 3 digits of the file name. I tried a few times to get the counter straight, - have sort ofįixed it, - it now is giving me 9301 instead of 9922 like I wanted,īut I seem to be on the right path, but i used a different folder Anyway what I did was simply set it for the next even 100 up. It may be a slight difference between models, I note that my A50 and G3 use different folder/file names. Should be able to figure it out.Good luck.įrank may have the answer, but I was never able to get the exact folder number either. You said if you are at number 6410, to rename the folder to " 164Canon" I am puzzled here - was that a typo on your part below ? Since I keep files in folders named by year and month (at least), this has not caused any problems. And, yes, I already have a file of this name from S(it was 180-8035). However, and this is the problem that you mention, if you download photos using a card reader the first three digits (same as the Dcim folder name) get dropped and the file looks like Img_8037. It specifiically addresses Joonhwan Lee's question as well. There is also a section right after "Resetting the FIle Number" called "About File Numbers" on page 78 which explains how the file number structure works. My G1 manual addresses this on p115 "About File Names". This use of the prefixes (IMG_, CRW_, STA_, and MCI_, are to differentiate the various modes of the camera though ZoomBrowser knows what they are and adds a cute little icon at the top of the thumbnail. Is thereĪny way to change the starting number of my camera? I don't want to Picture, it begins to number a image from 100-0001.jpg. Numbering recently has reset for some reason. I've been taking about 1,000 pictures so far with my G1 and the I took over 2,000 pictures in just a few days. "C0000001" which is the same file length (8 characters) but now theĬount goes up to 10 million. I would have much rather seen their file convention as Start over at 0001? I wish Canon would have added a couple moreĭigits to the count instead of wasting 4 character positions with What happens when you have taken 9,999 pictures? Does the count
